Decision to Leave (2022)

Decision to Leave (2022)

Ughhhh… what to say. Direction wise it’s perfect. Styling, how it’s shot. Everything is nice and crisp. But god damh I am confused about the story, it’s interesting but I don’t know if I didn’t get that much into it, I just didn’t really enjoy it that much. I will for sure give it a second watch, it gives a lot to think about.

Shutter Island (2010)

Overall a nice and interesting experience, the twist for me was obvious but still enjoyable. Scorsese always manages to make films interesting, it never lost my interest compared to something like Decision to Leave which I kept getting bored on. Still gonna remember it as that movie where Leo went bananas.

One for the Road (2021)

This is from the same director as Bad Genius, and it sort keeps the same great style I enjoy. Direction and overall picture is great and it’s interesting to watch, some cocktail scenes being great. But sadly I cannot get into this story, it just didn’t grip me at all.

Oppenheimer (2023)

Oppenheimer (2023)

Barbenheimer! Starting with Oppenheimer. I honestly had little hope for this coming in, I am not a huge Nolan fan and while I respect most of his movies I do not like them. Well this blew me out of the water. It’s 3 hours of pure joy and even the fact the last hour hurted my butt I still didn’t want to leave the cinema at all.

It kind of has a weird structure (as per any Nolan movie) but it’s not that terrible, interesting throughout.

Barbie (2023)

Barbenheimer! Too high hopes? Eh perhaps, I didn’t hate it per say but it just felt meh. The first 30 minutes are fantastic and magical and the rest feels like a Disney movie with Will Ferrel, it’s just kind of annoying. The chase scene was insanely bad, at least the music was good.
